Fire starts in kitchen at Lexington apartment complex

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Firefighters are on the scene of a fire that's caused a lot of damage to an apartment in Lexington.

Officials tell us the fire broke out around 10:00 Monday night along Pimlico Parkway.

Firefighters say the fire started in the kitchen of one of the apartments. The woman who lives there was able to escape.

The fire is out now.

Firefighters say they kept it from spreading beyond that kitchen, but they evacuated people in neighboring apartments as a precaution.

We're told no one was injured.

Firefighters are now checking neighboring apartments to see if there's any damage.
