Flood damage in Knox Co. expected to surpass hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Knox Co. Ky. (WKYT) - Damage estimates are still being taken but it's likely to be in the tens of thousands if not hundreds of thousands. And one congregation is looking for a new place to hold their services.

Jeff's Creek Baptist was knocked off its foundation by the the floodwaters what also inundated the small church with about 2 feet of water. The inside is now covered in mud. The small church didn't have insurance and the minister says he's not sure what the future holds.

"I kindly live in a community where it is hard to get people to go to church. Maybe God is trying to show them something," said the church's minister, A.Y. Mills.

The minister of Jeff's Creek Baptist says despite their tragedy...he sees a silver lining, saying he believes in a greater purpose behind the tragedy.
