Former Lexington mayor finalist for Georgetown College president

GEORGETOWN, Ky. (WKYT) - A former Lexington mayor is on the short list of people being considered to lead Georgetown College.

The college announced Tuesday afternoon that Jim Newberry is one of three finalists to be the school's next president.

Newberry is the current vice president and general counsel at Georgetown College.

He is competing against Cheryl Kimberling, president of Multicultural Alliance in Fort Worth, Texas and Jason Rogers, vice president for administration and university counsel at Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee.

All three candidates will meet with trustees, faculty, staff, alumni and students next week.
