DANVILLE, Ky. (WKYT) - State Police have arrested a 29-year-old former youth leader for having inappropriate communication with a teenage girl.

Jonathan David Hall is charged with unlawful use of electronic means to induce a minor to engage in sexual activities. He is lodged in the Boyle County Jail on a $10,000 cash bond.

State Police say the investigation began when the mother of a 15-year-old girl contacted Lexington Police saying she'd found inappropriate texts and emails sent to her daughter from an unknown person. Lexington Police discovered that the suspect was likely located in Danville and contacted State Police.

According to investigators, the 15-year-old girl told detectives she began communicating with the unknown person after that person texted her looking for another girl.

The man claimed to be an 18-year-old University of Kentucky student named Zachary Blight Carter.

She told police their conversations via email and text messaging quickly became sexual and that she sent the man multiple nude photos of herself at his request and he sent her a nude photo as well.

Police say their investigation eventually led police to a home on Denmark Drive in Danville. That's where they found Jonathan David Hall. We're told Hall posed as Carter and contacted the girl. Officials with Southland Christian Church confirm to WKYT that Hall worked as a youth group leader at the Danville campus. They say he was recently released from his position because of personnel matters. Police say Hall first came into contact with the girl through church.

During the investigation, Police say they found other nude photos of what appear to be juvenile girls. They are working to identify the children, who appear to live in at least three other states, is ongoing.

Anyone with information about a person using the alias Zachary Blight Carter is asked to contact the Kentucky State Police Electronic Crime Branch at (502)782-9769.
