KNOTT COUNTY, Ky. A Knott County coroner confirmed the body found Wednesday along Highway 80 is that of missing Johnson County woman Christina Barnett.

Kayla Kelly has been friends with Barnett for nearly five years, and says her death hasn't quite sunk in.

"I'm still in shock over it," said Kelly, "because how did this happen? why would someone do this to her?"

A search party found Barnett's body this week, the man who found it says it had been burned. Officials have not yet confirmed it as a murder.

"It had to be some evil twisted minded person to do something like that to another human." said Kelly.

She says she spoke to her friend two weeks ago, but wishes she could have seen her just one more time.

Like everyone else, she wants answers.

"The question is why," said Kelly, "because I know she would not do anything to anyone to provoke somebody to do something like that to her."

Barnett's body is in Frankfort for an autopsy.
