FRANKFORT, Ky. (WKYT) - Interstate 64 is back to normal after a fuel spill that tied up traffic for hours Thursday.

The Franklin County sheriff tells WKYT a crash caused about 30 gallons of fuel to spill onto the westbound lanes of the interstate near exit 53 in Frankfort.

Traffic was backed up for miles as Franklin County and state highway crews cleaned up the mess.

They finished their work around 7 p.m. Thursday.
