Governor Beshear is calling Kynect the one stop shop to finding quality, affordable health care for all Kentuckians.

"We began to change the history of health care here in the Commonwealth of Kentucky," says Beshear.

The Governor stopped by UK hospital Wednesday to discuss how open enrollment is going.

Open enrollment began Monday and lead to more than 1 million people visiting the site.

There are more than 640,000 people without insurance in Kentucky.

More than 7,500 applications were filled out on the first day of open enrollment.

In addition to finding information about Kynect online, Kentuckians can call (855) 459-6328 or visit one of the 150 kiosks that are set to go up this month at various locations around the state.

The Governor acknowledged the minor glitches on opening day, but say he and and his staff feel confident those have been repaired.

Beshear says that the Kynect health care exchange is not costing Kentucky anything. He says it will be paid for through the federal government.

Right now the government has yet to set budget, something Beshear says needs to happen soon, "If some of these folks in Washington that are acting like a bunch of nine-year-old's in the cafeteria in a food fight will grow up and act like adults and get this country moving again, the Affordable Care Act is the law of the land we're implementing it. They need to get on with business."

Kentuckians have until March 31st to enroll in a health care plan through Kynect.
