LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Four people were transported to UK Hospital Saturday afternoon after a head-on collision on Winchester Road.

It happened around 2:30pm Saturday afternoon on Winchester Road at the Royster Road intersection. Police say the two passenger vehicles struck head-on.

Lexington Police say there were seven people in the two vehicles and that four of them were transported to UK Hospital. Two of those transported had life-threatening injuries.

At this time, police are not releasing the name of ages of those involved but they did tell us that no children were involved in the crash.

Shortly after the collision, we spoke with a woman who actually heard it happen and tried to help those trapped inside their cars.

"We just tried to keep them calm and do what we can do to help them if they are conscious. We just tried to keep them breathing and one lady was having trouble breathing so we just told her to calm down and slow her breathing down," said Cathy Dixon.

A fundraiser for two of the crash victims has been set up. If you are interested in donating, just click the link below:
