LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Cold temperatures are back in the Bluegrass and winter is around the corner. Places like the Catholic Action Center have a place where they can escape the cold at night, the Community Inn.

The shelter was near capacity Sunday night, 60 men and 28 women found warmth in Lexington.

No children are allowed to stay at the inn. Women are upstairs and men are downstairs.

Volunteer Coordinator Kelly Duffy says the shelter is always ready this time of year because of the low temperatures.

"We are very lucky to be able to have the Community Inn and be able to have a safe place, a warm place for them to be overnight," said Duffy.

The center is in need of warm winter clothing. To donate, visit their God's Garment location on East 7th Street.
