I-75 reduced to two lanes in Fayette County

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet will close parts of I-75 Fayette County throughout the day on Monday.

Road closures will begin at 8am with the Southbound left lane closed until 8pm Monday night. Then, at 8pm, the right lane will close and the left lane reopened.

In addition, Interstate will be reduced to two lanes from mile marker 108 to 104, from Man o’War to Athens Boonesboro. Law enforcement will be aiding in the transition.

The speed limit will be reduced to 55mph in these areas with double fines for violators within the work zone.

Road crews say these closures are necessary to complete the Roadway Rehabilitation Project.

Officials are asking drivers to be cautious while driving through these work zones while these transitions take place.
