Inmate escapes Elizabethtown jail

Kentucky State Police say that an inmate escaped the Dentention Center in Elizabethtown on Friday.

23-year-old Robert W. Wilson was being moved from the old facility to the facility on US31W. A Sergeant with the Detention Center left Wilson downstairs in a chair and went upstairs to retrieve Wilson’s belongings for the transport to the other facility.

When the Sergeant returned Wilson was gone. It is believed that Wilson simply walked away.

Wilson is described as a white male, 6’1”, 150 lbs., blonde hair, blue eyes with a light complexion and thin build. Wilson was serving time for Rape 2nd. The investigation is ongoing.
