Blackburn escapee caught at Lexington motel

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - A man who escaped from a prison in Lexington is back in custody.

Lexington police tell us they caught 42-year-old Robert Vick Monday afternoon at the Sunset Motel on Georgetown Road.

Vick spent about 20 hours on the run. Prison officials tell us he walked away Sunday night from the Blackburn Correction Complex in Fayette County not too far from the motel where he was captured.

Vick was serving a six year sentence for Burglary and a five year sentence for criminal possession of a forged instrument.

He is expected to face additional charges of escape.
