MADISONVILLE, Ky. (AP) - Prosecutors in western Kentucky say a juvenile accused in a double shooting that killed his mother and seriously injured his stepfather will be tried as an adult.
The Messenger reports a Hopkins County grand jury made the decision this week after reviewing the case.
Police say 17-year-old Adam Teems killed his mother, 45-year-old Rose Riley, and wounded her husband, 51-year-old Keith Riley, on Aug. 26 at their home in Dalton. He is charged with murder and attempted murder.
He is being held at a juvenile facility in Owensboro.
