KSP conducting missing persons poster contest

FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) - Fifth grade students from around Kentucky are eligible to compete in the National Missing Children's Day Poster contest sponsored by the U.S. Justice Department in Washington, D.C.

Kentucky State Police will select one nominee from the state to participate in the national competition. The nominee will receive an Award of Excellence and their poster will be prominently displayed at the Kentucky State Fair.

The contest uses the theme "Bringing Our Missing Children Home."

The winner of the national contest will be determined in late April and will receive a U.S. Savings Bond and a free trip to Washington, D.C. to participate in the National Missing Children's Day ceremony

Kentucky fifth graders can enter the contest by submitting their posters to KSP headquarters by February 18, 2014.
