LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - A suspended northern Kentucky attorney says he will appeal his 60 day suspension for misconduct in two civil cases.
Eric C. Deters, who goes by the nickname "The Bulldog," said in an email he'll ask the U.S. Supreme Court to review his suspension issued by the Kentucky Supreme Court last week.
The suspension marks the second time the high court has suspended Deters. He was also sanctioned for 61 days in February 2012.
Deters' suspension stems from misstatements he made to a court during a civil case in Campbell County and other misstatements in a libel suit he filed against Kenton County Commonwealth's Attorney Rob Sanders.
Deters was also ordered to pay $2,450 to cover the costs of the proceedings.
