GREENUP, Ky. (AP) - Scuba diving is the newest adventure tourism attraction being offered at a Kentucky park.
Greenbo Lake State Resort Park is opening an area for scuba diving in Greenbo Lake in northeastern Kentucky.
A special opening ceremony for the new attraction is set for Saturday.
The 10-acre scuba refuge will allow divers to use the lake April through October and other designated times from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Divers will register and pay a $12 daily fee. Safety guidelines have been set to warn boat traffic to stay away from the area while divers are present.
The scuba area, on average, is about 25 feet deep.
The state resort park is 18 miles north of Interstate 64 from the Grayson exit, or eight miles south of U.S. 23.
