Kentucky troops home for Christmas

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - A Kentucky National Guard company returned home just in time for Christmas. Members from Cynthiana and Olive Hill returned to the Kentucky Horse Park on Sunday. The 149th Vertical Construction Company was stationed in Afghanistan for nearly a year.

It was a 31-hour journey for SSG Andy Wiglesworth, but it was worth it to reunite with his wife "Moe" and to meet his new granddaughter, Natalie, for the first time.

"I'm so happy to be home. It's been a long time coming," said Wiglesworth.

With Christmas in a few days, the Wiglesworth household will be complete for the holiday.

"I'm just absolutely thrilled to death he's finally home. Without a doubt," said Maureen "Moe" Wiglesworth.

Officials say 152 men and women returned Sunday.
