Kerry heads back to Mideast for fresh peace push

WASHINGTON (AP) - Secretary of State John Kerry is heading to the Middle East on his third trip there in just two weeks in a fresh bid to unlock long-stalled Israeli-Palestinian peace talks.

Kerry departs Saturday for Istanbul, the first leg of a six-nation trip that will see him travel on to Europe and East Asia.

He's meeting with Turkey's prime minister and foreign minister to discuss Syria's civil war and Turkish-Israeli ties.

From there, Kerry heads to Jerusalem. He'll meet the presidents and prime ministers of both Israel and the Palestinians.

His trip will also take him to Britain, South Korea, China and Japan.
