Laurel Co. grandfather arrested for endangering granddaughter

Deputies have arrested a grandfather for allegedly putting his six-year-old granddaughter in danger.

The Laurel County Sheriff's Office tells us James McDonald had the girl with him while begging for money at South Stewart Road and U.S. 25 E.

Deputies say he told them he gets food stamps, didn't need the money and knew having the girl there wasn't safe.

McDonald is charged with endangering the welfare of a minor.
