Laurel County Sheriff issues urgent black ice warning

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. - Sheriff John Root has reported that every road in Laurel County could be slick and covered in black ice and drivers need to take extreme caution.

The sheriff's office also reports that numerous traffic accidents have occurred this morning as a result of the slick conditions.

All roads in Laurel County -- including I-75, U.S. 25, KY 30, Hal Rogers Parkway, KY 80, Russell Dyche Memorial Highway, and all other state and county roads have a possibility of being slick, hazardous, and ice-covered due to this black ice condition.

Motorists are advised to take extreme caution if they must drive on the roads.
