Laurel County woman arrested after allegedly stabbing man

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - A Laurel County man is recovering at home after police say he was stabbed with a butcher knife multiple times Friday night.

Officials with the Laurel County Sheriff's Office say it happened around 9:30 Friday night on Line Creek Road.

When they got to the scene deputies say they found Gilbert Smith with multiple stab wounds.

He was flown to UK Hospital for treatment. Hospital staff say he has since been released.

Deputies say Smith had been drinking with a woman identified as Michelle Smith when the two got into an argument, and she allegedly stabbed him multiple times.

She fled the scene, but officers were able to locate her and arrest her Saturday evening.
