FORT KNOX, Ky. (AP) - About 1,000 college students who want to become Army officers will take part in this year's Leader's Training Course groups starting Thursday at Fort Knox.
The post says about 200 Reserve Officer Training Corps cadets will go through one of five courses being held over the summer, with the last group graduating Aug. 3.
The program marks its 47th anniversary this year. During the 29-day course, cadets spend time heading up squads and platoons and overseeing tactical activities.
The post says students come from schools all over the U.S. to participate in the program.
