Lexington Police plan DUI safety checkpoint

Lexington, Ky (WKYT) - Lexington Police say they'll conduct a “Drive Sober, or Get Pulled Over” effort next week. The police department and Kentucky State Police will join forces for an impaired driving crackdown. The initiative will take place Tuesday, August 14, from 9:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m., on Paris Pike at the Bourbon County Line.

Police say they'll be aggressively looking for all impaired drivers. “Our message is simple and unwavering. If we find you driving impaired, we will arrest you. No exceptions,” says Officer Alvin Cook. He adds, “Driving impaired is simply not worth all the consequences. So don’t take the chance. Remember, Drive Sober, or Get Pulled Over”.
