LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - A homeowner says that a thundering noise woke him up on Wednesday.

"About shook the house, and it startled me. And I jumped up and got changed and ran out the front door," said James Meyers.

But Meyers didn't find the source of the noise, until he walked to the back patio entrance of his Market Garden Lane home. There, he found his door cracked and pushed in.

Meyers says a short time later, he found the source of the noise. It was a 16-year old boy who, according to Meyers, lives nearby. Meyers tells WKYT that he confronted the teen.

"(He was) crouched down in the backyard, trying to hide. I asked him what he was doing. He told me he was trying to miss the... he missed the bus. And I said 'It's not here, you need to leave.'"

Meyers escorted the teen off his property. Meyers then called police and gave them the suspect's description.

The 16-year old didn't get too far. Police took him into custody just a couple streets away, on Old House Road. He is being questioned.
