Lexington police work early morning break-in at downtown deli

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Lexington police are investigating after they say someone smashed their way into the a downtown deli early Thursday morning.

It happened around 1:30 a.m. at the Courtyard Deli in Cheapside Park.

Police say they originally got the silent alarm call and when they arrived they found a front window had been busted out.

The say the thief or thieves appear to have only taken money from the cash drawer.

Police say they are trying to see if surveillance videos from the deli or one of the surrounding businesses may have caught the crime.
