Lexington to continue waste collections for storm debris

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - The city of Lexington plans to continue special debris collection in two neighborhoods hard hit by Sunday's storms. The city says the Division of Waste Management has already cleared the debris residents put out at the street in the Highlands Park and Coldstream Station neighborhoods. On Wednesday, waste management will have three rear-loader trucks and a knucklebroom truck assigned to the neighborhoods for special pick-ups.

If you have tree debris, you're asked to cut it into sections four foot in length or less and place it at the curb. Materials from damaged housing and other non-tree waste should be placed on the curb, separate from tree debris.

If you know of a tree still blocking a road, you can call LexCall at 311 to report it. You can also contact LexCall with questions or any other information.
