Man arrested for stealing car and hitting owner during getaway

FRANKFORT, Ky. (WKYT) -- Frankfort police say they have arrested a man accused of stealing a car and striking its owner in his attempt to get away.

Officers said that on March 29th, they were notified that the victim's vehicle had been found abandoned by the Lexington Police Department.

Frankfort police issued an arrest warrant for Maxwell Pardi, 35, of Frankfort, for auto theft and 2nd degree assault.

On March 30th, officers found Pardi in the Winthrop Court Apartment complex. Police said he was sitting on the hood of a 1987 Oldsmobile that had been reported stolen in Lexington.

Pardi is charged with auto theft, 2nd degree assault, receiving stolen property, and other crimes.

He is lodged in the Franklin County Detention Center.
