LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - A man now faces charges in connection to a case of voyeurism at a Lexington hospital.
Lexington Police began their investigation back on February 13th. Someone used a smart phone camera to record video inside a locker room at Saint Joseph East on North Eagle Creek Drive.
On Tuesday, police arrested 43-year-old Marc Bajarin, who was an employee at the time the camera was found. He faces charges of voyeurism.
According to court documents, Bajarin admitted to placing his iPhone inside a locker room that he knew was for women. Police say he recorded some of them changing clothes.
Bajarin told police he was recording the video to catch some illegal activity but police say he never reported anything of that sort to hospital security.
Bajarin was in court Wednesday for his arraignment. He plead guilty and had a lawyer appointed after he told the judge he had been suspended from work and had no money.
Barbara Mackovic, a spokesperson for St. Joseph East, released the following statement:
"A smart phone was found in one of the locker rooms of the hospital. The phone was immediately turned over to the Lexington Police Department to identify the owner. We have been cooperating with the police regarding this incident. The owner of the phone has been identified as one of our employees. That employee was placed on a leave of absence at that time, until the police investigation could be completed. All other locker rooms were searched, and no other locker rooms were affected. We want to ensure the safety and privacy of our employees and are installing an enhanced security system entry lock for the locker rooms so that no unauthorized personnel may enter the area."
