Man charged with arson for fire at Wayne County Attorney's Office

Police have arrested a man they say set a fire at the Wayne County Attorney's Office.

State Police have charged James Rigney, 18, of Monticello, with arson, burglary, theft by unlawful taking, and evidence tampering.

Investigators say the fire caused extensive damage to both the county attorney's office and a child support office.

Investigators later ruled the fire to be an arson.

They say all case files destroyed by the fire were backed up by computer or there were copies in other offices.
