Man dies after stabbing in Kentucky prison

WEST LIBERTY, Ky. (WKYT) - A prison inmate has died after officials say he was stabbed by another inmate in a Kentucky prison.

State police say on Sunday, Eric Chapman, 32, stabbed the victim in the neck at the Eastern Kentucky Correctional Complex in West Liberty. That victim, Michael Lynch, 31, was airlifted to UK Hospital where State police say he died on Monday.

Lynch was serving a 25-year sentence for murder in Calloway County.

Chapman is serving a 17-year sentence for second degree robbery, assault and first degree wanton endangerment in Whitley County.
