LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - A man fought back early Tuesday morning against two men who be believed were up to no good.

It happened in Lexington on Ashmoor Drive in the Southpoint neighborhood. That's where police say two men approached a car as the driver was parking.

"As soon as we opened the doors, both doors just flew open, fast, that's when I noticed the guy had a knife on me," said the passenger who didn't want to be identified.

"The other guy, he pulled my buddy out of the car, and when he done that my buddy lunged at him." he said. "Next thing you know all I hear is a gunshot, buddy yelled my name and both of them took off."

During the altercation, police say one of the suspects pulled out a gun and fired a shot. The gunman and his partner then ran off but not before another shot was fired.

Police say no one was injured and that they could not find any property damage due to the gunshot.
