Madison Co. man arrested for using small child as designated driver

A Madison County man is in jail accused of letting a small child drive him home because he was drunk.

MADISON COUNTY, Ky (WKYT) - A Madison County man is in jail accused of letting a small child drive him home because he was drunk.

The sheriff's department arrested 41-year-old Robert Buckner Monday night. The sheriff's office says an off-duty deputy saw a car go by her her home with a small child who could barely see over the steering wheel.

The deputy followed the car to a nearby home. The sheriff's office says Buckner blew a .241 on a breathalyzer, that's more than triple the legal limit.

Buckner is charged with wanton endangerment and endangering the welfare of a minor.
