DANVILLE, Ky. (AP) - A Danville man has been sentenced to life in prison without parole in a shooting that killed two and injured one.

The Lexington Herald-Leader reports 39-year-old Thomas Wayne Hager Jr. received the sentence Thursday in Boyle Circuit Court after pleading guilty and waiving his right to sentencing at a later date.

Hager pleaded guilty to murder in the 2012 deaths of 54-year-old Ted Sparks and 21-year -old Mark Snyder of Waynesburg. Another man, 37-year-old Philip White was injured. Police have said they believe the shooting was drug-related.

By taking the plea, Hager avoided a possible death sentence if he was convicted at trial.
