Man thrown from motorcycle in Frankfort crash

FRANKFORT, Ky. (WKYT) - A man is fighting for his life after being thrown from his motorcycle during a violent crash.

It happened Monday night in Frankfort. Police say the motorcycle slammed into the side of a car in front of Papa John's on Main Street.

Shawn Gillispie, a Papa Johns employee, called 911 shortly after the crash.
"You'd be amazed how quick a simple accident can happen like that too." Gillispie continued , "The guy, he was face down. You could tell he didn't have his helmet on. You could tell, it was pretty gory to be honest with you. Other than that, I mean, it's kinda what you'd expect out of a motorcycle accident."

Police say the rider was not wearing a helmet. He was airlifted to UK Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

No one in the other car was hurt.

The crash remains under investigation.
