Man wakes up to find burglar in home

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - A man tells police he woke up to find a burglar in his home. It happened at a home on Pontchartrain Court in Lexington.

The man tells police he was asleep when he heard a noise around three Thursday morning. The victim says he went to investigate and found a burglar inside his house. The homeowner scared off the burglar.

Police came out to the area and searched with dogs. A forensic investigation team also came to the home to search for evidence.

At this point, Lexington Police tell WKYT that they are not sure if anything was taken. They think the suspect may have used a tire iron to break into the home.

The homeowner was not injured.
