A county employee says he was attacked at work by a man with a knife.

The victim, Chris Adams, is the Lynch maintenance supervisor in Harlan County.

He says a man he didn't know came out of the woods with a hunting knife while he was checking water tanks Monday morning.

"Guy slapped the front of my truck," Adams says. "He came around and when he got to my mirror and it appeared, I seen a knife. Then, he opened my door. I don't know what he said. He was just screaming."

Adams was able to drive away before the man got him.

Police arrested Joseph Collett at a nearby house after he allegedly went after a man who pulled a gun on him.

Police say Collett may have been under the influence of drugs.
