Meeting planned for I-75 connector road

Community leaders will come together Thursday to discuss a road that would connect Jessamine County with Interstate 75.

The connector will extend from the yet-to-be-built east Nicholasville Bypass and wind through rural Jessamine and Madison counties and reach I-75 at exit 95.

The new road is expected to take traffic off Tates Creek, Nicholasville and Richmond Roads in Lexington.

Officials say it may take years to determine how to pay for the road.

An organizational meeting on the design phase is scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday at the Jessamine County Chamber of Commerce office on North Main Street in Nicholasville.
