Not guilty plea in deadly Scott County crash

GEORGETOWN, Ky. (WKYT) - A man charged in a deadly crash made his first court appearance on Tuesday afternoon.

Police say Johnny Allen ran a red light on Lemons Mill Road in Georgetown on Saturday night. Another car slammed into his, killing his passenger.

Allen pleaded not guilty to DUI and manslaughter charges during his arraignment. The judge set a $50,000 cash bond and appointed a public defender for him.

Saturday's crash was the second deadly crash in Georgetown in just two days.

On Friday, Georgetown Police say a Tyler Knuepell ran a red light while driving a church van. The van hit Vicky Lynch's car, killing her.

Knuepell is charged with reckless homicide.
