Obama says gov't is with Oklahoma

MOORE, Okla. (AP) - President Barack Obama says Moore, Okla., is "a strong community with strong character" but needs help.

On Sunday, he visited the city that was so severely damaged by an EF5 tornado a week ago.

He told the people of the Oklahoma City suburb the government will be behind them "every step of the way" as they rebuild. The tornado killed 24 people. Thousands of homes were damaged.
