Officials devising ways to warn of bears at park

HARLAN, Ky. (AP) - Bears have become regular visitors to an eastern Kentucky ATV park, prompting officials to start devising ways to warn riders of their presence.

The Harlan County Outdoor Recreation Board plans to use television advertising to issue warnings about bears at the Black Mountain Off Road Adventure area, where bears have been spotted with regularity.

Board member Ken Crider told the Harlan Daily Enterprise the ad campaign will likely be in conjunction with four other zip line locations around the state.

Crider says partnering with other organizations will bring the price down.
