CORBIN, Ky. (AP) - Wildlife officials have euthanized a bear found near a hospital and were searching for a second animal that had been stalking about near a campground.

Fish and Wildlife Department spokesman Mike Marraccini told The Times-Tribune (http://bit.ly/QzqeaB ) that the bear had lost its fear of people and "that is unacceptable behavior."

Fish and Wildlife officers found 240-pound bear Monday night in a wooded area near Baptist Regional Medical Center in Corbin and trapped it before euthanizing the animal.

The U.S. Forest Service was also trying to find a bear seen at the Holly Bay Campground. Campground employee Clyde Burrows says if the bear had not been trapped or spotted by Thursday night, the area would reopen.

The campground closed on Saturday, July 27, when a bear was spotted that evening.
