LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - A Lexington organization dedicated to helping families break the cycle of domestic violence needs help getting the children of those families Christmas gifts this year.
The Bluegrass Domestic Violence Program is asking for toy donations for families they help at the shelter. They're still trying to find gifts for 20 other families in need of a Christmas.
"We're already living without our homes, without most of our necessities. A yard. We've given up so much to leave a violent situation. And through giving, gives us hope and comfort," explains domestic violence survivor Rachel Thomas.
The Bluegrass Domestic Violence Program wants to provide gifts for 48 families throughout Central Kentucky.
