LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - An early morning fire damaged an office for the Catholic Action Center and Community Inn on Monday.

Lexington Fire responded shortly after 5am to a call for tires burning next to a building, but when they arrived on scene they found part of the building was on fire.

The Catholic Action Center provides a lot for the community, supplying those less fortunate with food, clothing and shelter.

WKYT’s Melissa Etezadi spoke to Ginny Ramsey with the organization who tells us they lost important documents, computers and other files in the fire. She says those items were vital for the organization.

Firefighters were able to contain the fire to just the office area and no one was injured.

Officials are still looking to find what caused the fire and an investigation is likely.

God’s Net distribution center will be closed until further notice.
