Overnight vehicle fire damages Lexington home

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - An investigation is underway after an SUV caught fire early Friday morning, damaging a Lexington home.

Someone called the police just before 2am Friday morning to report flames coming from a car parked on Eastway Drive, off of Southland Drive.

When firefighters arrived on the scene, they say a Chevy Suburban was fully involved, and the heat from the fire had begun melting the siding of a nearby home.

The man living there says he ran and woke up his neighbors who had several small children.

No one was injured, and firefighters were able to keep the fire from doing too much damage to the home.
