Pedestrian killed by teen driver in Bath County

Kentucky State Police are investigating after a 17-year-old struck a man in Owingsville, killing him.

OWINGSVILLE, Ky. (WKYT) - Kentucky State Police are investigating after a 17-year-old struck a man in Owingsville, killing him.

State Police say 74-year-old Ray Ellis was attempting to cross Slate Avenue around 5:30pm Sunday evening when he was struck by a vehicle driven by a juvenile.

Police say the impact caused Ellis to hit the windshield and roll off the driver's side, striking the pavement.

Ellis was transported to UK Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

No charges have been filed at this time pending further investigation by Kentucky State Police.
