Police ID driver of school bus that overturned

SMITHLAND, Ky. (AP) - Kentucky State Police have released the identity of the woman who was driving a school bus that overturned and injured all 25 people aboard.

Police said in a statement on Saturday that the driver was 49-year-old Robin Black of Sturgis, who was treated and released from Lourdes Hospital in Paducah.

The bus overturned Friday evening as Black was transporting the Union County High School girls' softball team to Smithland where there were to play Livingston Central High School.

Police said the bus ran off the right shoulder, then swerved to the other side of the road and rotated 180 degrees before rolling on to its side. No one suffered life-threatening injuries.

Hospital officials said on Saturday that most patients were released Friday night, but at least one person remained hospitalized.
