Police: Intoxicated teen driver crashes into baby's room

Police believe a teenager was under the influence, behind the wheel when he crashed into a home.

WHITLEY COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - Police say a teenager, who was driving under the influence, ended up crashing into a home.

It was around 6:15 Thursday morning when a Whitley County Sheriff's deputy responded to Steven Lane in Williamsburg, where a vehicle had struck a home. The impact of the crash caused contents to fall inside a room of the residence, where a five-month old child was at the time. The baby was not hurt. The driver left the scene.

Police identified the driver of the vehicle as 18-year old Nathan Peace. Peace was located and charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence/ under 21 years old, criminal mischief 1st, leaving the scene of an accident, wanton endangerment 1st, no operator's license, and reckless driving. Peace was lodged in the Whitley County Detention Center.
