Police: Man flashed children

Police say there were four young children playing on a swingset along Palermo Lane when a car pulled up to the curb, and out stepped a nude man making a lewd gesture.

"This is what shatters innocence in children," said Marianne Monk.

Police say one of the children, an 11-year-old boy, rushed the younger ones inside while the man got away. Neighbors are still shaken up.

"Making sure last night that the car doors were locked, the doors to the house were all locked, because it gave them a false sense of security where this is somewhere they've always felt so safe," said Monk.

For now, police say they'll be stepping up patrols throughout the area.

"This is the backyard for this house and these kids. This is something that we're putting a significant amount of effort in to find this person and take care of him. The parents in this area are obviously on alert right now. we have had already a few calls of suspicious vehicles in the area. we have obviously picked up our patrols in the area as well," said Lt. Chris Van Brackel of the Lexington Police.

Police say the suspect and vehicle description don't match any other incidents in the area.
