Police arrest two carrying stolen weapons

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Lexington Police have arrested two suspects, armed with guns they had stolen from a Lexington neighborhood.

Police say they arrested a juvenile after chasing him through the Windham Hills area of Lexington, near Boston Road and Man o'War.

Police say they caught the juvenile and another adult in the act. The two had allegedly broken into several cars in the Wyndam Ridge area.

Police say the two suspects fled on foot, and while running one of them pulled a gun, in what police say they believe was an effort to ditch the weapon. Police say that when they saw the firearm they immediately wrestled the person to the ground.

The other suspect was eventually caught and investigators say he was carrying shotgun shells.

While canvassing the area to find the vehicles they suspect were broken into, police say a homeowner approached them and said he was missing a shotgun.

Police eventually found the gun in the front yard of another home, where they believe it had been tossed by one of the suspects.

Police have 18-year-old Demontrey Neal from Lexington and a Juvenille from Nicholasville both in custody at this time. Both are facing theft of firearm charges and police say more charges are likely.
