Police find answers after overnight crash

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - After a bizarre chain of events there are finally some answers following a van crashing into a Lexington apartment building Thursday night.

WKYT was on the scene late Thursday night off Tates Creek road near Armstrong Mill moments after a vehicle crashed into the side of an apartment building.

Police say it took several hours to sort out the facts.

They say two groups of people were arguing, when the driver of the van jumped out before putting it in park, to join in on the fight.

The van knocked an air conditioning unit into the apartment building.

No one was injured.

Police eventually caught up with the driver, 19-year-old Benjamin Nesbit, near the Thorntons and charged him with wanton endangerment and promoting contraband after police say they discovered a large amount of pills stuffed in his underwear when they got him to jail.
